Welcome to my Poultry and Waterfowl web pages. This website is for my primary hobby, which is the breeding and conservation of rare breeds of domestic poultry and waterfowl. We are now located in central Lincolnshire 12 miles from Lincoln, in the Lincolnshire Limewoods area between Woodhall Spa and Wragby where we recently built a new house in our eight acre woodland smallholding to replace the disintegrating 1950’s prefab bungalow that was on site. I had to reduce the number of breeds I kept due to lack of time and facilities, but in 2017, I added Svart Honas, Barnevelders, Marsh Daisies and Ixworths. I lost our last Black-winged bronze turkey hens when they flew out of their enclosure to nest in the field next door, and had a break from breeding in 2015-16, and then in 2017, I produced some Pied again. I still have a web page with photos of the turkey varieties that I used to breed as there are photos of some rare and unusual varieties in the UK.
I still have Lincolnshire Buff large fowl, Nankin Bantams, and African geese. Large silver Appleyard ducks are also bred to exhibition standard and shown occasionally. I am still working on blue Appleyards, and produced some light blue ones in 2017 .
My other website, Lincolnshire Tree Reports and Surveys is for my work as an Arboricultural Consultant.
